We didn’t buy a zoo, but we invested in each other
and like a tree we stand rooted to earth in every weather,
now wrapped around with little fingers and chocolatey arms
we embrace each passing day with youthful charms,
and for those who care for worldly goods and meaningless strife
our greatest possession is each other, and life.

N.B. I immediately wrote this un-edited poem down the moment my family and I finished watching ‘We Bought A Zoo’. We loved watching this film and was moved by the true-life story of passion, element of risk, and a commitment to those close to you and to a greater cause. Plus it had lovely music from Jonsi (a musician that I like).
