I’m a Typealyzed Doer!

It was the savvy Susie Lindau who brought the Typealyzer to my knowledge. It’s an online tool through which if you type in your blog address, it analyzes it and has a very good go at outlining the author’s character. I’m delighted to say I have been Typealyzed as a doer. Read below for a description understand a little bit more about what type of person I am. My comments are added in brackets and green italics).

The author of http://spirativity.co.uk is of the type ESTP.

The active and playful type. They are especially attuned to people and things around them and often full of energy, talking, joking and engaging in physical out-door activities. They are active people who want to solve problems rather than simply discuss them. (very good and close description)

ESTPs are the most adept among the types at influencing other people. Promoting is the art of maneuvering others to one’s position. Concrete in speech and utilitarian in action, they are smooth operators. The ESTP knows everyone who matters and everything there is to do because they are very resourceful, always knowing where the fun and action is. (Yes yes… all the fun and action is right here at home with my wife and three kids!)

They like to indulge themselves in the finer things in life and to bring other people with them. Their goal in life is to sell themselves and their ideas to others. Dramatic and debonair, they are gifted at earning others’ confidence. (In my current condition, I don’t think I would be able to sell myself for much! And besides, I never associate with the word sell, instead, ‘promote’)

The Doers are happiest with action-filled work which craves their full attention and focus. They might be very impulsive and more keen on starting something new than following it through (I always follow through!). They might have a problem with sitting still or remaining inactive for any period of time. (Oh geez, it starts off good and has a dip at the end… but no, I enjoy being inactive, hence, my meditation practice, book reading, and good night’s sleep!)

Common satisfying careers: PC Technicians, General Contractor, Building Inspector, Surveyor, Mechanic, Forester, Stockbroker, Real Estate Broker, Police Officer, Firefighter, Athlete, Computer Technical Support (Hmmm… only thing that interests me here is Athlete, maybe Police Officer when I was younger, and perhaps Forester if I actually lived near a forest. I am more in to the creative, educational and wellbeing career industries)

Notable ESTPs: Alexander the great, Winston Churchill, George S. Patton, Donald Trump, Ernest Hemingway, Angelina Jolie, Madonna, Meryl Streep, Jack Nicholson, Julia Roberts, Milla Jovovich, Alfred Hitchcock and Jabba the Hutt. (These are some serious names here… I’ll make sure I’m a notable name before I die – my apparent brain activity is below). I would be most interested to repeat this analyzer perhaps 6 months – 1 year later to see if it changes/evolves.

  1. Interesting. Because I have several blogs, I entered all of them and not surprisingly got different Myers-Briggs Type for each. When I think about it, they each represent a different aspect of my “personality” (I usually don’t think of myself as having one). Back in the days of the daily grind, I used Myers-Briggs Type Indicator with students and clients and found it most useful, as did they.

Enjoyed your very interestig post. Thank you!

    1. Hi Jamie! Thanks for popping in! Different personality for each blog. That’s very interesting. Under a Humanmetrics Jung Typology Test, I suppose I would be an ENFJ. So it’s interesting depending on our consistency, medium, and present mind-set our results span out. Thank you for reading 🙂

  2. Very cool on all kinds of levels Barry!
Thanks so much for the linkage and the shout out. 🙂 It has been fun to see everyone’s reaction to it! The general feeling is that it works! I agree that your type fits you just like Old Alexander!
